So it’s Oscar day today and we know that Benedict Cumberbatch is off to his first Oscars clad in finest Spencer Hart which is exciting.
If you are in the US the Oscars are on ABC and start at 7e | 4 p. If you’re in the UK Sky Movies HD have the Oscars and the ceremony starts at 1:30 a.m. GMT (other countries check local listings).
If your reason to watch is to try and catch a glimpse of Benedict then actually it is probably the red carpet coverage rather than the ceremony itself that you want to watch. Benedict isn’t down to do anything at the ceremony itself as far as I’m aware (plus this year is the most predictable set of winners in years!) He’s not presenting anything - you can see the full list of presenters here. So you might get the odd clip but as he’s not yet a huge name over there the director is unlikely to focus on him unless he’s say sat next to Spielberg (next year it will all be different I’m sure).
So its the red carpet coverage you probably want to try and see as the leak of the Star Trek photos and the fact that he’s so prominent in them will hopefully mean that they’ll be a fair amount of interest in him.
If you’re in the US here’s a handy list of red carpet coverage providers and times:
“Live From the Red Carpet: The 2012 Academy Awards”: 2:30 p.m. Sunday, E!
“Red Carpet from the 84th Academy Awards”: 3 p.m. Sunday, Reelz: Live coverage.
“Academy Awards Red Carpet With Chris Harrison”: 3 p.m. Sunday, TV Guide: Chris Harrison speaks with Oscar nominees.
“Oscars Red Carpet Live”: 4 p.m. Sunday, ABC: Guests arrive for the 84th Academy Awards ceremony.
If you’re in the UK red carpet coverage starts at 11:30 p.m. on Sky Movies Premiere HD and Sky Living HD.
On the Red Carpet will be streaming their red carpet coverage live from 4 pm et as will MTV (from 5pm et) and AP.
Hopefully one of them will work if you’re not in the US. Otherwise it will be a question of googling for less, cough, legit streams.
As far as I can see the Oscar ceremony itself is not been legally streamed anywhere.
Let’s hope we get a glimpse of Benedict on the red carpet and good luck Gary Oldman!
For any followers...blog that care what I have...about...
WTF why are they on at 630p Mountain Time?? 7e should be 5mtn!
